Leesburg Presbyterian Has a New Pastor!

The Rev. Katie Strednak Singer is the new pastor at Leesburg Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Strednak Singer began her ministry at the historic Leesburg church on Oct. 23. She came to Leesburg from Immanuel Presbyterian Church in McLean, Va., where she served as associate pastor for seven years. Before that, she served seven years as solo pastor of Franklin Presbyterian Church in south central Kentucky.

While the Rev. Strednak Singer has received numerous awards during her ministry-- including a 2011 “Unsung Heroes” award from the Franklin-Simpson Human Rights Commission and a 2021 Distinguished Alum Award from Louisville Seminary-- she says that these simply reflect her hope of "interpreting scripture within community life."

As she puts it, "I am passionate about the intersection of faith and justice, especially when it comes to hunger relief, housing for our neighbors, and creating opportunities for connection and community."

Leesburg Presbyterian Church is located at 207 W. Market Street in Leesburg’s historic district. The congregation meets Sundays for worship at 10 a.m. and invites the Leesburg community to three worship opportunities all on Dec. 24: a family-oriented service at 5 p.m., a traditional Lessons and Carols service at 7 p.m., and a special 10 a.m. "Blue Christmas" service created just for grievers to gather this holiday. If you are feeling blue this Christmas Eve, this 10 a.m. service is just for you.

Services can also be joined online, https://www.youtube.com/@LeesburgPresbyterian/streams
